Giving Thanks for Your Help in Creating Climate-Resilience!

As we close another year, I would like to thank our donors for your contributions, as well as Freedom Farms and CIV:LAB for your generous grants. A special thank you also goes to our staff and volunteers who continually help make a greener way of living a practical reality.

Your generosity has enabled our primarily volunteer-run nonprofit to expand our workforce development program—training reentry individuals and others for emerging green-collar urban agroecology jobs. These jobs include installing and maintaining food-bearing, regenerative landscapes and fruit tree arbors, as well as large-capacity rainwater catchment and reuse systems.

Our success is now enabling Greener Way to launch “Creating Climate-Resilient Communities from the Ground Up.” This program connects us with international/global communities committed to living by a moral code based on these four foundational principles:

  • Respect and care for the community of life
  • Ecological integrity
  • Social and economic justice
  • Democracy, nonviolence, and peace

Our Climate-Resilient Community Building on a Local Level

  1. Reaching out to our local neighborhood via the FEMA-endorsed “Map Your Neighborhood” (MYN) program:

We initiated this program 10 years ago in our neighborhood. MYN unifies local groups with the knowledge to communally prepare for potential disasters resiliently, effectively minimizing fatalities and injuries.

  2. Disaster preparedness and lawn transformation:

We are inviting our neighbors to not only review and update their disaster preparedness plans but also to transform their lawns into urban oases. Neighbors can hire our Greener Way-trained graduates or attend our free DIY workshops and demonstrations.

  3. Learn and collaborate:

Join us as we work together to address escalating climate challenges. Together, we can grow year-round organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers while supporting each other in uplifting, climate-resilient ways. By collaborating, we can reverse the climate trajectory toward Regeneration!

As we support one another in these challenging times, please consider supporting our Greener Way work via tax-deductible donations. Together, we can build a community of care, confidence, and joy—even in these uncertain times.

With gratitude, let’s join together to create caring communities! Let’s all be part of the Regeneration!
